We have a winner! Welcome back to the IFCA Newsletter!

Finally, after 8 weeks of arduous competition the IFCA Endurance Series 7 is complete, and new champions have been crowned! Probably the most difficult to complete series of any in the IFCA, the Endurance series is a challenge just to finish. Not because the races are extra long (only 25laps x2), and not because the series is 8 weeks long - most IFCA events are - but because it is very hard to keep a team together from the start of the season to the end!

You know how it goes. It's hard enough to be at every race in a series as a single racer, but when you have teammates to depend on, it becomes twice as hard to make sure both show up each week. Sadly, in series 7, if your partner was a no show, and if you had no back up driver, you could not race. So the attrition rate in this series was exceptionally high

Swedish Killer Tomatoes leading the field around Sebring

Kudos to team Swedish Killer Tomatoes headed up by #61 VVV Flexy B, #77 VVV Lippakorv and #83 VVV Nonni D in their quick little S-860 1980 Renault 5 Turbo! They were not the favorites at the start of the series, but their car was feared by the organizers as having great potential. This is the second time VVV Lippakorv has been on an Endurance series championship winning team, and the first time VVV Flexy B has captured the title. Well done!

Having secured the title before the last race of the season, the closest team in points, and defending champions, the League Champions of #4 VVV GTDon and #3 SP33D RAC3R 28x with their backup driver #47 SABR Alphonso, in a S-869 1997 Mitsubishi 3000 GTO, conceded to the new champions the title. Third place went to team Kräftegleichgewicht with drivers #15 Shota AydindriL and #25 inviseco in their fast S-880 1995 Porsche 911 GT2

The favorites to win, team Carolina Core, in what was the fastest car of the series - a S-880 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo - had to be nearly perfect to pull it off because of the high handicap of their car. And with such notable drivers as #91 General E Live, #119 NLR 3Wide, and #1 TRC Smokinu, the potential was certainly there. Easily the strongest team ever assembled for any IFCA event. But it was not to be, as poor team coordination, and more prominent events like the FM3 Challenge helped to deflate their heady efforts

Series 8 - the final Official Endurance Series of the 2009 Season - will have a new and improved format that will for the first time ever allow singles to compete fairly against 2 man teams:
- if you can't find a faster teammate to run with you to increase your odds of winning, no problem, you can go solo!
- if you find a teammate who dumps you, no problem you can be converted to a solo and still continue on with points in hand
- if you are a solo driver and later find a fast teammate to help you, you can convert to being a team
- if you don't like a particular track and want to recruit a "hired gun" for your team, you can do so

Whatever the case may be, this new flexibility promises to be the best version of the series and the last one for FM2! This almost anything goes setup is sure to be the most fun, and just to sweeten the pot, there will be a FREE Forza3 game to the winner! The start date? 22nd Aug to 10th Oct; 8 weeks of racing. Sign Up Period? 27th July to 28th Sept! Don't miss your chance to win a FREE Forza3 game! More details soon!

JGTC Series 7 crowned its king as well! #119 NLR 3Wide did it again this time in a Porsche instead of a Viper, successfully pulling way out in front of 2nd place #118 RSI Babam and 3rd place #306 RSI Continental, both from the RSI club, and both in different cars, Viper and Skyline R32 respectively

Formula 1 Series 2 is mid-season with #745 V12 Silon95 leading the points, with a slew of contenders right behind him

IFCA Stock Car continues its march toward the Chase for the Cup as new faces join selected races just to partake in the close racing fun of the series each week. The series is half over, and there is no telling who will get into the Chase just yet! Points leader #428 GLR1FastRedneck is still looking for his first win in the series. Next race is the Nissan Speedway in the unrestricted car

In IFCA SpecRacing Series 6, #41 TRC Greekman finally got his long awaited win at Sunset P. and takes over the points lead from clubmate #1 TRC Smokinu who had a disastrous qualifying time landing him in the B room for the first time this series! Sebring is next

Over in Race Pro, IFCA SingleSeat Series 1, in the quirky Formula BMW's, paid a visit to Kent in England - Brands Hatch the venue, where new boy #992 xx THE STIG xx took the victory on his first outing. Points standings where unavailable at the time of writing. Next race at Monza!

Pro Racing Series 1 visited Zandvoort for WTCC action, where Italian #772 IPR GhostClint took the spoils, but #259 RpM LaCeTti continues to lead the championship into the week-off. Oschersleben will be their next challenge on the 7th July!

Although FM3 has put a real dent in everyone's enthusiasm for FM2, what else are you going to do?! Try to remember, it isn't the quality of the game that makes it fun, it's the quality of the people playing the game that makes it fun

See you at the track!

I think we all know by now that the F BMW was a crummy car to pick for the Race Pro Single Seat Series. The next season (if there is one) will be the last before Forza 3 comes out. It would be nice if the next IFCA newsletter made a push for all the IFCA members to compete in this Race Pro Single Seat Series. It would be great if we could get the core regulars to come out and put their reps on the line. One big challenge event, all the IFCA regulars racing against the bulk of the non-IFCA racers who came over here to participate in the Single Seat Series. I think it could be fun. Here's hoping some of you guys aren't afraid to get a little dirt on your shoes.

Don and Chilled, if you guys would just give a little support to the second series of Single Seat on Race Pro, it would go a long way. Chilled, I have been most disappointed in you, seeing that you've been hammering this game from the beginning it seems. Don, you know how hard it was to get people to stay interested in the Endurance series. The Stock Car series also had some difficulty at times, but I was always there trying to keep interest up for both series. Now I need a little support from you guys. It's all I ask Bro's.

Come on Red Pod, Race Pro is the worst game of it's type.

Lippa, you know I like you and I see you as a friend, but that statement was utterly ridiculous. Talk to GhostClint or Zeragon or RTP Bunio about Race Pro. Those guys will obliterate any fast laps you might post in that game.

The thing that i don't get is why we are constantly having to defend ourselves against not playing the game. Its a personal choice. Please stop antagonising us lol

I'm not saying the game is bad becouse I'm bad at it, Red Pod, but you are saying it's good becouse you are better at it then you are at Forza. Or maybe you think you are better at it becouse you have much less competition in it then you have in Forza.
