RULES

Post by AAR GTDon on Thu Mar 22, 2012 2:36 pm

Loosely based on the SEMA "OPTIMA Street Car Invitational" seen on SPEED TV. The, "IFCA Ultimate Street Car Challenge" is a fun way to see just which street car is really the all-around best if you were allowed to do anything to the car. The only limitations are, it has to be a street production car no higher than S-700 class, and if the car is 1976 or newer it has to wear Sport Tires. If it is older than 1976 it can have racing slicks. So no race cars, only production street cars, and no traction control. Just try to pick a car that can do everything well, and you'll win!

There are 5 'one on one' events that you and a friend can setup and run.
1.) a 1 mile drag at Sedona
2.) Hill climb at Fuji C reverse, collisons off
3.) a 3 lap oval race at Sunset P. Speedway, collisions on
4.) a single lap braking challenge timed race, at Catalunya National, collisions off (timer set to 1:30)
5.) 1 lap road course at LeMans Le Sarthe, collisions on.

In the braking challenge, 1 minute and 30 seconds is just enough time to reach the finish line from a standing start. The idea is to out brake your opponent just after the finish line. To do this you will need to begin braking well before the finish line. If you brake too early however you may not cross the finish line and will DNF. So, whoever comes to a stop in the shortest distance after the finish line in this 1 lap event, wins the event. The win is indicated on the results screen as the person on the bottom in 2nd place because he traveled the least distance.

Each event is worth 1 point, and you have to use the same car throughout your 5 event competition. You can tune the car for each event. We will keep a record of accumulated points, and an overall win ladder to determine who the champion really is, what their times were, the car they used, and what horsepower they stuffed into their favorite car.

Because this is a two driver event that can be done any time between you and a friend, there is no set schedule to compete. Just tell your friends the rules, and then post your results here or on XBL.
What you should post are the names of the drivers, cars, P.I. and horsepower, lap times, and in the case of the braking challenge, who won.
Good luck!

Ahh Diablo, you tricky devil! That was a car on my own list. Yes you may use it. It is more of a super car, and not a race car.
