Great Cars Inexplicably Missing from Forza!

The following will be an ongoing master list of missing cars in Forza.  These are cars that have no good reason not to be in Forza by now.

These are cars that have a much higher relevancy to the automotive world than such mundane basic transportation vehicles as cargo vans and limousines.

This will be a long list so please stop by and check it out from time to time.

1971 Dodge Dart

Post by GTDon2 on Mon Aug 13, 2018 10:59 am

Though the 1971 Dodge Dart was of no major significance in the automotive world at the time, the more aggressive angular bodywork made for a more attractive, and some would say the most attractive, of all the Darts ever made.  Had it not been for the imaginary oil crisis and money hungry insurance companies, Dodge probably would have continued to upgrade the Dart into what you see here.  This, in fact, is a "Retro-Concept" version of a 1970-71 Dart utilizing the state of the art go fast parts of the day.  440 big block, Six Pack, Cross Ram Intake Manifold, Dana 60 3.54 gears, 727 automatic, and A12 fiberglass lift-off hood.  Every part on this car was available back in the day, exactly a decade after the very first Dodge Dart Ramchargers hit the drag strip in their then amazing 413 Cross Ram Wedge motors.

In 1962 the Ramchargers were untouchable at the strip and this Dart pays homage to its illustrious Dart predecessors by continuing the theme while using the best parts available up to that time creating what could have been put into production. By today's standards the horsepower is mild by comparison, but back then, it would have been mind-blowing!  Anything approaching 500hp was considered the holy grail of performance cars back then, and this one just happens to have 502hp.

Cars T10 forgot

Ford produced 57 special Fairlane 500 two-door hardtops with "R-code" 427 cu in (7.0 L) V8 enginerated at 425 bhp (431 PS; 317 kW) @ 6000 rpm and 480 lb⋅ft (651 N⋅m) @ 3700 rpm of torque,[13] equipped with Ford's "Top-Loader" four-speed manual transmission. Built to qualify the engine/transmission combination for NHRA and IHRA Super Stock racing, they were white and had fiberglass hoods with a forward-facing hood scoop which ended at the edge of the hood.

Michael Schumacher's 2000 Ferrari F1 V10.  When a screaming Formula 1 car actually sounded like a formula second to none.

1996 Indycar, fastest Indycar of all time.

The 1996 Indy500 race marked Firestone's first Indy 500 victory since 1971. In what would be the final year contested under the V8 turbocharged engine formula (until they returned in 2012), on a newly repaved track,[4] all-time track record speeds would be set during practice and time trials. Arie Luyendyk set the one-lap track record (237.498 mph) and the four-lap track record (236.986 mph), while Eddie Cheever ran the fastest race lap (236.103 mph) in Indy 500 history - records that all still stand as of 2017. Luyendyk also ran the fastest practice lap in Indy history (239.260 mph) just a fraction of a second shy of breaking the 240 mph barrier.

The "Cheetah"

Post by GTDon2 on Mon Sep 24, 2018 12:40 pm

The Bill Thomas Cheetah was an American sports car designed and engineered entirely with American components, and built from 1963 to 1966 by Chevrolet performance tuner Bill Thomas. It was developed as a competitor to Carroll Shelby's Cobra.

1970 AMX Javelin SST 390

Post by GTDon2 on Tue Sep 25, 2018 11:26 am

1970 AMC Javelin SST with “Go Package”

The 1970 Javelins featured a new front-end design with a wide "twin-venturi" front grille incorporating the headlamps and a longer hood.
Many buyers selected the "Go Package", available with the 360 and 390 four-barrel V8 engines. This package as in prior years included front disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, heavy-duty suspension with anti-sway bar, improved cooling, 3.54 rear axle ratio, and wide Goodyear white-lettered performance tires on styled road wheels.

The top optional 390 cu in (6.4 L) continued, but it was upgraded with new cylinder heads featuring 51 cc combustion chambers and a single 4-barrel Autolite 4300 carburetor,[33] increasing power to 325 bhp (330 PS; 242 kW) @ 5000 rpm and maximum torque of 425 lb⋅ft (576 N⋅m) @ 3200 rpm. The code remained "X" for the engine on the vehicle identification number (VIN). Also new was the “power blister” hood, featuring two large openings as part of a functional cold ram-air induction system; this was included with the "Go Package" option.

The 4-speed manual Javelin was the quickest of the "Pony" cars tested by Popular Science, reaching 0 to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 6.8 seconds.

Trans Am Race Cars

Post by GTDon2 on Tue Sep 25, 2018 11:43 am

No reason why T10 would ignore these iconic race cars that EVERYONE wants to drive.  The American road racing legends of yor, Trans Am. Sure, you can create reasonable facsimile's but the truth is you are really only creating a beefed up street car which is not what the Trans Am cars were.  They were heavily modified for racing, with heavy duty everything, and much more robust than what can be re-created in Forza.

The Trans-Am Series was created in 1966 by Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) President John Bishop. Originally known as the Trans-American Sedan Championship, the name was changed to the Trans-American Championship for 1967 and henceforth.[1] The series has in fact gone by a variety of different names through the years (too many to list), some linked to sponsors, some not.[2] It has evolved over time from its original format as a Manufacturers' Championship series for modified passenger sedans and Coupés to its current form as a Drivers' / Manufacturers' Championship Series that is open to GT style racecars. Champion drivers have been officially recognized, and Drivers' Championships awarded since the 1972 season.

Over the years, the series has raced on a variety of different types of race tracks (Permanent and temporary road courses / street circuits / airport circuits) all over the country, as well as at venues in Canada, Mexico, and even San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2003. Since 2015, Trans Am has been a national series (Continental U.S. only), racing at tracks primarily throughout the East Coast, South, and Midwest. In 2017, the new stand-alone West Coast Championship Series raced at four tracks—three on the West Coast, and one in Texas that was a 'shared event' with the Trans Am Championship Series. For 2018, the Willow Springs, CA race was dropped from the schedule, Sonoma, CA was added, and a shared race with the main series was added at INDY. Each Championship Series is independent of the other.
